2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 Review (Grace)

2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 in Ruby Flare Pearl

Let me introduce you to the new 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6. Yes it has a V6 engine, so you know this car is fast. The new Camry has a much sportier look and feel. This specific tester I got to try had the Sport Mesh front Grill making it look extra smooth.  For an entire week I was calling myself Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, because the Ruby Flare Pearl color reminds me of Dorothy’s shoes minus the sparkle. When I discovered that this particular Camry had a V6 engine, I was quite surprised, because I have never known for a Camry to have that type of engine. I was already thinking in my head that this car must have power and speed.

Keyless Entry and Push Start Button.

The interior of the car is leather with red trimming. Very sporty in my opinion.
The steering wheel is also leather trimmed, tilt/telescopic sport wheel with paddled shifters. You can also control your bluetooth hands-free phone and audio.

The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 also features a 7-inch high-resolution touch-screen display, AM/FM CD player, MP3/WMA playback capability. Also features auxiliary audio jack, and a USB 2.0 port that I used almost the entire time to plug my iPod.
When Im not using my iPod to listen to music, Satellite radio with Sirius XM is also available. Our favorite satellite radio station is Backspin channel 46. Highly recommend this channel if you are a big fan of old school rap and hip-hop like myself.

Premium JBL Audio with Navigation and App Suite. You can connect your Pandora account or even your iHeart Radio account and there’s no need to stream from your phone.
Among all of the cars I have test driven so far, the JBL Audio and Navigation is one of the most user friendly system I have ever tried.

Syncing my phone to the car’s bluetooth system was a breeze as always.
You also get a backing assist camera that can be seen in the 7 inch screen.

Dual AC control is very important to me, especially driving with my fiance. I am always cold regardless if the weather is 80 degrees. Most of the time, each of us will have our very own climate control.

The Camry’s odometer is not digital, however you have this menu in the center which tells you the current song being played, car info, mileage, trip a-b, etc.
I do like the old school non digital display, including the fuel gauge. Other cars that I have test driven have digital fuel gauge, and will not display accurate information regarding how much gas is left in my tank once I hit quarter tank of fuel. Most of the previous car will just state “low fuel”.

Fuel Economy: 21 City/31 Hwy/25mpg Combined. For my experience, I was averaging about 23 mpg combined.

As for gas? I think this Camry eats a little more gas that I am used to. For personal use, I have no problems for the 23 mpg combined. I actually thought its pretty good.

Let me take you back in the second row.
Very roomy in my opinion. My daughter had a blast especially having AC in the center between the driver and front passenger seat blowing to the back. She also enjoyed the center cup holders that just folds back up if space is needed.

Before I forget, you also do get two cup holders in the front seat! No worries!

These two back seats recline for extra storage from the trunk.
If you’re like me who owns a sedan and frequents IKEA…The long weirdly shaped furnitures or TV wont be a hassle anymore!
This is the view from the trunk.  This is quite a large trunk space for a sedan. It measures up to 15.4 cubic feet of cargo storage.
You must also PULL these buttons before collapsing the seats. ( See image below)
If incase there’s an emergency and you get stuck inside your trunk… NO WORRIES!

There’s a little lever that you can pull from inside the truck to be able to get out. SHHH don’t tell anyone!

Something that I have noticed that is pretty common with sedans are these sun roofs. Nothing too special, but its always an extra treat to have in a car especially when it’s a nice and sunny day.

Final thoughts?

This is not your typical Camry you might probably have inherited from your parents.
This one has speed, style, and class.
What I really liked about the XSE is the Pre-Collision system wherein it is designed to help reduce the crash speed, but only on frontal collisions only. There will be a loud warning that you are going too fast and approaching a vehicle. If you are one that falls asleep on the wheel, this will definitely wake you up!  It seems that the blind spot warning system on the side mirrors is a very common option, I still do appreciate having that in the car.  Why you should ask? I am very short and every little thing helps.
The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 is a great family sedan. The interior is very roomy for both front and back passengers. The trunk space is perfect for those family bike trips to the park, or just for even moving larger items around town. Driving in the highway with the Camry is so smooth, the suspension has definitely improved compared to its predecessors.  The size and design of the new Camry is probably their best yet to date. Not too bulky or sporty looking, its just a perfect sporty sedan without the sporty look if that makes sense.
I am in the market for a new car. I think I’ve finally found my perfect Match!
My birthday week was the best and it was all because of this beauty. I was snapchating this car the entire duration I had it. Follow me on snapchat to see future car test drives!  Mini vlogs are on Snapchat all the time! Search “graceanngo”.
The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE base price is  $32, 195 and tested price is $35,768.
